Editorial policy
Northern News Dispatch aims to be accurate, independent and clear about what is known, what is attributed and what remains uncertain. This policy describes the standards behind our editorial work.
Accuracy and sourcing
We check names, dates, quotations and factual claims against reliable available material before publication. Articles identify where significant claims come from and distinguish direct evidence from interpretation. When a point cannot be established from the material available, we avoid presenting it as settled.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to satisfy an advertiser, partner or outside interest. Commercial arrangements do not determine our conclusions or guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error, they can contact us with the article, the relevant passage and supporting information. We review credible correction requests and amend confirmed errors, making the nature of a substantive correction clear in the article where appropriate.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; where that applies, the illustration is identified accordingly.
